Companion care for seniors, patients & children

Your father is doing fine. He likes his chair on the balcony and the evening news. But the day has grown long for him, alone in the apartment from morning until you get home from work. He doesn't need nursing. He needs someone to keep him company and keep an eye on him, and that's what companion care for seniors is for.

The same idea works for someone just home from the hospital who needs company and a hand with the day, or for children who need someone with them for a few hours until you're back. The companion is there to keep company and help out, and you know who's coming before they arrive.

What a companion does during the day

  • Keeps them company: a cup of tea and a chat, the newspaper, a favorite TV series, or a short walk outside the building if they're up to it.
  • Helps with the daily routine: warming up lunch, tidying the room, and staying close while they move around the house.
  • Goes along to appointments and errands: a doctor's visit, collecting a pension, or a visit to relatives.
  • Looks after children: stays with them after school, keeps an eye on homework and meals, and follows the house rules you've written down.
  • Simple reminders: mealtimes, a call that needs returning, or tomorrow's errand.
  • Keeps you posted: if anything comes up, they can message or call you from inside the order.

Arranging the first visit

  1. 1Describe the person and their routineIn the request, say who needs company, how well they get around, what they enjoy and what upsets them, and when they usually eat and rest. If it's easier, record a voice note and talk it through the way you would with a relative.
  2. 2Pick the timeChoose the window when you need someone there, like your working hours or the morning of a doctor's appointment. The request goes to verified companions who work in your area, and as soon as one accepts, you see their name, photo, and rating.
  3. 3The first meetingTry to be there for the first visit. Confirm the arrival code at the door, introduce the companion to your parent without rushing, and show them around: the kitchen, the family phone numbers on the fridge, and the small habits your parent is used to.
  4. 4Share your feedback afterwardAsk your parent how it went, then rate the companion in the app. If something didn't sit right with you, open a support ticket from the order itself, or reach us on WhatsApp or by phone.

Why identity checks matter most in companion care

With most home services, you're in the house watching the work. Here it's different. You're leaving someone you love, who may not always be able to speak up for themselves, with a person you're only getting to know. That's why every companion on Aman Fix has to verify their identity with a national ID and a recorded video before receiving any request.

On the day, you can follow the companion on the map as they head over, and check the arrival code in the app the moment they arrive. If the face at the door doesn't match the photo, the app can ask them for a live photo on the spot. Throughout the visit there's also a help button in the order, in case you need to act fast.

Common questions

Can the companion give my father his medicine or check his blood pressure?

No. Companion care is non-medical, so companions don't give medication or take blood pressure or sugar readings. If your father needs that, arrange it with a qualified nurse in coordination with his doctor. The companion is there for company and help with an ordinary day.

Can the companion go with my mother to a doctor's appointment?

Yes. Write the appointment time and place in the request, and how they'll get there, by taxi or in the family car. Agree in the chat on who pays for the ride, and if the companion goes into the doctor's office with her or waits outside.

My mother lives alone. How can she be sure the person at the door is the right companion?

Before the visit, send her the companion's name and photo from the app, and agree that she won't open the door until she's sure. Ideally you or another family member is there for the first visit to handle the arrival code, or at least on the phone with her when the companion arrives. If the face doesn't match the photo, the app can ask the companion for a live photo.

Can I book someone to stay with my child after school until I'm home?

Yes. Write down the child's age, their after-school routine, and your house rules on food, screens, and homework. Say clearly who is allowed into the house or to pick the child up, and that the child doesn't go out without your permission. For the first visit, do the handover in person if you can.

What if my father doesn't feel comfortable with the companion?

It happens, and comfort between people can't be forced. Rate the visit honestly in the app and tell support what happened, from the order or on WhatsApp. If anything the companion did worried you, file a complaint right away, and the support team will follow it up with you.
